Bebe Sachi is an international FairTrade, social enterprise company owned by Nurturing Concepts Sdn Bhd (841504-U). We invest in artisan hand weavers from impoverished villages in Bangladesh. Its handloomed fabrics are made using traditional weaving methods – reviving the dying art of hand weaving to produce exquisite baby wraps. Being a social enterprise since its inception in 2011, our mission is to provide an alternative to the forced enmasse migration of artisan weavers into the cities of Bangladesh, looking for employment.
Our aim is to build a community of people who share our passion for sustainability, preserving cultural craftsmanship and art forms, as well as giving weavers the dignity of work. With this goal in mind, all of Bebe Sachi wraps are loomed with love and respect by a circle of weavers.
By keeping your babies close in these lovely creations, you can help preserve a legacy of fine craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage. Buying from us will allow us to provide sustainable employment for our weaver, allowing the family to stay together in their village, thus preserving their ancient tradition of hand weaving.
The Bebe Sachi Team
Every wrap is designed and produced by the Bebe Sachi team and embodies our diverse heritage and love for the tradition of hand weaving. Our designs are inspired by our past to hold our future close.
